Virgin Islands (US and British)

The Virgin Islands of the Caribbean belong to two different entities: the United States and the United Kingdom. A draw for many US citizens is that they can travel to the US Virgin Islands without having to bring their passport along. Should you venture further west to their British counterparts, you’ll need to take it with you.

Whichever side of the Virgin Islands you set foot on, you’ll be welcomed by consistent temperatures of 80 degrees year-round. Dip your toes into the sand and the energetic West Indian culture. Take a day to explore Blackbeard’s Castle before touring a rum distillery on the US Virgin Islands. Or, if you’re more apt to life on the water, you’ll find some of the best sailing conditions in the world amidst the trade winds of the British Virgin Islands.
